A peaceful, historic trail, ideal for unwinding, featuring the remains of a Roman road and landscapes that evoke the days of medieval merchants and armies.
The Baztan Way of St James, though less well known than the French Way, is one of the oldest and most tranquil pilgrimage routes, ideal for disconnecting. It was a historic communication route between France and Navarre, used by pilgrims who arrived via the Bayonne pass and entered Navarre at Urdazubi/Urdax. It also served merchants and medieval armies, and the remains of a Roman road survive at the Belate Pass.
